Do you need to improve your public speaking skills? Would you like to gain leadership experience? Apply to take part in a free series of Toastmaster Public Speaking workshops! Space is limited, so apply quickly.
Toastmasters is a well-known, non-profit educational organization focused on enhancing public speaking and leadership skills. Their mission is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. With more than 345,000 members in 142 countries, their clubs and workshops teach and refine the speaking and leadership abilities of their members.
- Only 20 students may participate in the program for the fall semester. You must attend the information session to participate.
- Toastmasters will offer 12 weekly sessions on Fridays from 10 to 11:30 am in SAS 101, starting September 9.
- During the sessions, students will be encouraged to work on class presentations/assignments to receive coaching from the presenters
- Toastmasters will provide workbooks at no cost; student services will provide coffee/refreshments for each session
- The program will conclude with a completion ceremony on 12/9/16, that includes:
- Speech contests
- A certificate of completion
Moreno Valley College will host an Information Session on Friday, September 2 at 10am (Student Services Bldg. Room 101) to discuss the program to interested students.

The 13th Annual UC Davis Pre-Health Student Alliance Pre-Medical and Pre-Health Professions National Conference provides community-college, university, post-bac, and high school students, parents, and counselors with the information and skills necessary to succeed in the medical and health-professions school admission process. It provides a unique opportunity for direct contact with medical school deans of admission, admission officers, financial aid officers, faculty, and staff.
The 2015 Conference will be held at the University of California, Davis on October 10-11, 2015.
This event is OPEN to EVERYONE, regardless of level of school completed: high school, community college, state university, private university, post-baccalaureate, graduate, and professional level students are welcome.
This is a great opportunity for MVC STEM students! But please remember, registration fills up quickly.
Are you interested? For 95$, the All Inclusive Package will cover your meals, transportation, housing, admittance to the conference, and more. The registration deadline for this package is October 4, 2015.
March 27, 2015 marks the date of Moreno Valley College’s Second Annual Cesar Chavez Scholarship Breakfast.

Celebrating Cesar E. Chavez’s lifetime of achievements, student participants have a chance to earn a scholarship based on art submissions depicting Chavez’s many accomplishments.
Winners will be announced during the Scholarship Breakfast, which takes place from 7:30 to 9:30 am.
Afterwards, students have a chance to attend a symposium with Judge Jorge Hernandez, which takes place after the breakfast from 10 to 11:30 am in the Student Academic Services building, room 121.

This year’s inaugural event features hands-on STEM activities designed to enage students and promote STEM programs and fields of study.
